When Hurricane Helene devastated the CSRA in September 2024, Hixon’s Roofing demonstrated what true community commitment looks like. Despite losing power and all electronic systems at our own facilities, our teams continued responding to emergency calls throughout the storm and its aftermath.
Working with handheld radios, paper documentation, and pure determination, we deployed crews to protect Carolina families even while our own homes and business were without power. For 72 hours, we operated completely offline, coordinating emergency responses through cell phones and word-of-mouth.
Our crews worked around the clock, prioritizing the most vulnerable properties first—elderly residents, families with young children, and homes with the most severe damage. We didn’t wait for systems to come back online or conditions to improve. Our home needed help, and we delivered it.
